Spring (mid-April) for cherry blossoms and autumn (November) for fall colors are the most popular times. For the clearest views of Mount Fuji, early morning is highly recommended before clouds roll in.
Admission to the park and pagoda area is typically free, so tickets are not required for entry. However, if you are booking a guided tour or a day trip from Tokyo, it is best to reserve those spots online in advance.
While family-friendly, be aware that reaching the pagoda requires climbing nearly 400 steps. It can be physically demanding and is not easily accessible for wheelchairs or heavy strollers.
The pagoda is a 10-20 minute walk from Shimoyoshida Station. The area is best explored on foot as you hike up the mountain steps from the shrine entrance to the pagoda.
While the park itself is free, visitors often use the Mt. Fuji Pass or JR Tokyo Wide Pass to cover transportation costs in the wider Fujiyoshida and Fuji Five Lakes region.
